Some of what you’ll draw in 90 days

Picture day 90

Imagine if, three months from now, you could…

  • Sit down with a pencil and know exactly what to draw. No scrolling for tutorials, no blank-page panic.
  • Sketch the tree outside your window, a jug of flowers or a cottage on holiday, and have it look like what you saw.
  • Have 15 calm minutes a day that are just yours. No screens, no notifications, just paper and a pencil.
  • Lay your day-1 drawing next to your day-90 drawing and see how far your hand has come.
  • Finally say “I draw”, and have a sketchbook to show for it.

Where the 90 days lead: one finished pencil landscape (illustrative example)

You've wanted to draw for years. Something keeps stopping you.

"I quit after a week."

You start a tutorial series with good intentions, miss two days, and never go back.

"I don't know what to practise."

You open a new sketchbook, stare at page one and close it again.

"I have no talent."

Your drawings look nothing like the ones online, so it feels like a gift you weren't born with.

Drawing is a skill built in small steps. You don't lack talent. You lack a plan that tells you what to draw today.

Why this works

A plan, not another pile of tutorials

Free videos and separate practice books give you material. This gives you the next page to draw, every day, for 90 days.

The method

Why it finally sticks: the 4-step practice ladder

Most beginners copy a drawing once and move on, so nothing reaches the hand. Every lesson here climbs the same four steps, from easy to on-your-own, so you draw each skill 12 times before you leave it.

  1. 1Trace it ×4Your hand learns the movement with zero pressure.
  2. 2Finish it ×4Half-drawn copies: you add the missing lines.
  3. 3Draw it ×3Freehand, with the reference beside you.
  4. 4From life ×1A real object on your table. This is where it becomes yours.

You don’t need to draw better on day 1. You need to draw the same thing in four easier steps.

The 90-day roadmap

Three books. Each one ends with something you can draw.

Book 1, days 1–30

Foundations

  • Lines, curves, circles and ellipses
  • Contour, symmetry and overlap
  • Measuring, angles and proportion

By day 30: a woven basket built from simple shapes.

Book 2, days 31–60

Form & Light

  • A five-step value scale and shading
  • Cast shadows and one- and two-point perspective
  • Bark, stone, wood, grass and water

By day 60: a shaded cottage front.

Book 3, days 61–90

Sketching the World

  • Thumbnails and simplifying a scene
  • Trees, flowers, meadows and skies
  • Cottages, streets and sketching from life

By day 90: one finished landscape.

Every 7th day (yellow dot) is a review or free-sketch day, so falling behind never means starting over.
Book 1, Day 2 lesson: Curves that make a leaf. A warm-up drill, today's idea, the leaf in five stages, a watch-for tip and a practice space with a reference.

Book 1, Day 2 practice sheet: four leaves to trace, four half-drawn leaves to finish, three to draw freehand and one from life.

A day inside

Open the book, find today's lesson, draw for 15 minutes

  1. A 3-minute warm-upA short drill at the top of the page loosens your hand before the lesson.
  2. One idea, drawn in stagesA few lines of explanation, then the drawing built in 4–6 stages. The newest lines are dark and earlier ones pale, so you always see what changed.
  3. One thing to watch forThe mistake almost every beginner makes on that drawing, and how to avoid it.
  4. Your turnCopy it once in the practice space, then draw the real thing from life. Date the page and tick Done.
  5. The practice sheetEvery lesson has its own repetition page: trace the drawing 4 times, finish 4 half-drawn copies, then draw it freehand 3 times and once from life. Short on time? Do one row.

Who made this

A plan you can open tonight, not another video to watch

  • 90 lessons · 280 printable pages
  • Every lesson drawn in 4–6 stages
  • Left-handed edition included

Most drawing courses are videos you watch. We wanted the opposite: a calm, printed plan that tells you exactly what to draw tonight, so you spend your 15 minutes drawing instead of watching.

That's why every lesson is drawn in 4–6 stages, with the newest lines dark and the earlier ones pale, so you always see what changed. Every lesson has its own practice sheet, and every 7th day is a review day, because real life gets in the way.

We kept the subjects forgiving on purpose: leaves, trees, mugs, cottages and skies, so the first weeks feel like progress, not pressure.

A closer look

Three extras that make the 90 days easier

60 Pocket Practice Cards: the cover and two printed sheets of cards, each card a small drawing broken into four stages
Bonus · 60 cards

Pocket Practice Cards: practise anywhere in five minutes

Print, cut and keep a few in your bag. Each card is one small drawing broken into four stages, so a waiting room or a lunch break becomes practice time.

  • Lines, shading, textures, plants, trees, buildings and landscapes
  • Four-step breakdown and a repeat count on every card
  • Tick boxes to track each time you draw it
The Visual Library: its cover with three trees, a page of 16 line types and a tree repetition sheet
Bonus · 25 pages

Visual Library: never stare at a blank page again

111 named subjects and 16 line types on repetition sheets. Trace one, then draw it twice on your own, and you build a store of shapes you can call on in any sketch.

  • 16 line types, from steady lines to feathered grass strokes
  • Foliage outlines, tree shapes and trees seen from above
  • Plants labelled with their common and botanical names
Day 3 of Book 1 in the standard edition beside the left-handed edition, where the warm-up demo and reference drawing sit on the right
Standard edition (left) and left-handed edition (right)
Included · all 3 books

Left-handed edition: your hand never covers the example

When the example sits on the left of the page, a left hand covers it while you draw. In this edition every lesson page of all three books is mirrored: the warm-up demo and the reference drawing move to the right.

  • The same 90 lessons and practice sheets, in A4 and US Letter
  • Tips in the Start Here guide on avoiding smudges
  • No extra cost: it comes with every order

Is it right for you?

Made for calm, steady beginners

A good fit if you…

  • Are starting from zero, or coming back after years
  • Want a calm, screen-free evening habit
  • Like drawing nature, buildings and everyday objects
  • Have 15 minutes most days
  • Are buying a thoughtful gift for a beginner

Not for you if you…

  • Are already an advanced artist
  • Want to learn digital art or use an iPad app
  • Mainly want to draw people, faces or animals
  • Want live classes or personal critiques

Before you start

I can’t even draw a straight line. Is this really for me?

Yes. Day 1 starts with straight lines, curves and circles, and you trace before you ever draw freehand. Nobody is expected to arrive with any skill. If you can write your name, you can do this.

Am I too old to start?

No. Plenty of people pick up drawing in their 50s, 60s and 70s. There’s no app or screen to learn, the pace is 15 minutes a day, and you can print the pages at whatever size is comfortable to see.

Is this a subscription?

No. You pay £22 once and keep the files for life. There is nothing to cancel.

How do I get my files?

Straight after payment, the thank-you page shows your download links. We also email them, and the email has a "resend my files" link in case you lose them. Start with the 3-page Start Here guide; your access never expires.

Do I need to print it?

No. Every book comes in A4 and US Letter. Print at 100% on ordinary paper, or open the PDF on a tablet in any app that lets you write on it.

What do I need to buy?

An HB and a 2B pencil, a soft eraser and paper to start. A 4B pencil, a blending stump and a sharpener help from Book 2. The supply guide lists them all. They are inexpensive and easy to find at any art or craft shop.

I'm left-handed. Will it work for me?

Yes. A complete left-handed edition of all three books is included. The reference drawing and warm-up demos sit on the right, so your hand never covers them, and the Start Here guide has tips on avoiding smudges.

How long does each day take?

About 15 minutes for the lesson page. Each lesson also has a practice sheet for extra repetition; on a busy day, do just one row of it.

What if I miss a day?

Don't try to catch up by doing two pages at once. Just do the next page. Every 7th day is a review day with no new lesson, so it gives you room to catch up without guilt.

Why nature, buildings and objects, and no people?

They are the most forgiving subjects for a beginner and the calmest to draw. The programme is built around sketching the world around you: plants, trees, landscapes, streets and still life.

What happens after day 90?

Keep going with three extra workbooks (Cottages & Streets, Four Seasons Landscapes, and Pen & Ink), or a second 90 days that moves you to pen, ink wash and sketching outdoors.

Can I give it as a gift?

Yes. Buy it as normal, then forward the download email to them, or print Book 1 and the Start Here guide and give it as a printed gift. The files never expire.

How do refunds work?

Do the first 30 days. If you don't see a clear difference between day 1 and day 30, email us and we'll refund you in full. You keep the files.
